Our Impact

We’re committed to leaving a positive impact, both through the work we do and how we work.

Research & Advocacy

As part of our social impact commitment, each year we dedicate some of our time and expertise to research and advocacy that benefits regional communities and the sectors we work with. By taking on selected projects each year, we aim to contribute to sustainable regional development.

Submissions

Submission to the Australian Government on the Future Drought Fund

Based on our experience in drought related engagement, research, analysis and reporting in Western Australia, we made a submission to the Australian Government on the Future Drought Fund 2024 to 2028. In summary, our submission focused on elevating the role of social services, coordination to drive collective action, broader climate change resilience and funding considerations for 2024 to 2028.

Submission to the Australian Government on the Aviation Green Paper

We once again partnered with regional health provider Fly2Health on a submission to the Aviation Green Paper, following our input into the White Paper themes. In summary, our response called for a greater focus and nuance in policy making for general aviation, an independent review of, and improvements to, engagement with the GA sector, development of an evidence base, targeted capability supports for operators and an independent social study of the aviation workforce.

Submission to the Australian Government on the National Housing and Homelessness Plan

We partnered with Goldfields Indigenous Housing Organisation (GIHO), a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Housing Organisation (ACHO) based in WA’s Goldfields. In summary, our response covered the proposed timeframe of the Plan, housing for First Nations Australians and its role in the Plan, supporting diversity and climate change and sustainability in regional housing stock, as well as entrenched disadvantage and regional housing market mobility.

Submission to the Australian Government on the Aviation White Paper

We partnered with regional health provider Fly2Health on a submission into the terms of reference for this important work that aims to guide the Australian aviation sector to 2050. In summary, we welcomed a focus on general aviation, sustainable aviation fuel, and planning and development in the terms of reference. Our submission asked for the role of aviation in regional Australia to be elevated to a cross-cutting theme due to its importance, and for more efficient and effective regulation within the sector. Note, this submission was made as Anna Dixon Consulting, our previous brand.

Submission to the Australian Government on Measuring What Matters

Drawing on our experience using wellbeing measures in regional settings, we made a submission into the emerging themes of Measuring What Matters, what will ultimately be Australia’s first national framework on wellbeing. Our submission considered a greater role for measures of inequality within communities and the role of the natural environment, as well as suggesting different ways to look at measures such as volunteering rates in regional areas. Note, this submission was made as Anna Dixon Consulting, our previous brand.
